Ota binding

Otabind is a type of “perfect binding” invented by Swedish manufacturer Otava, using two applications of a quick-drying adhesive along the spine [PrintWiki] to achieve maximum flatness (“lay-flat”) in a paperbound book. Otastar is variant in which the “tractor tracks” are hidden by a second cover that is glued to the spine with hotmelt, making it a lot firmer [Brepols].
