Designed by John F. Cumming and released by Dickinson in two styles, Algonquin and Algonquin Ornamented, in c. 1888. [Reichardt] The styles can be layered for chromatic effect.
Shown in PLINC’s One Line (1971) in two styles, Algonquin Decorative (solid) and Algonquin Shaded (open). VGC’s 1972 catalog shows Algonquin Shaded. Typeshop’s 1970s catalog has Algonquin Shadow and Algonquin Shadow Ornamented (used for sample). A c.1976 Fürst catalog shows the open face as Macbeth Ornamental, alongside the similar solid Macbeth.
