Came from the Illinois Type Foundry and known as Egyptian Shaded or Egyptian Shaded Extended [McGrew 1993]. Originated at James Conner’s Sons in 1888 and known as Extended Clarendon Shaded, Original Ornamented, and Galena [FontMesa].

Issued for phototypesetting by Filmotype as Ultra [specimen] and copied by VGC as M-12 [VGC 1972]. Shown by Solotype as Galena [Solo 1992].

Skyline casts metal type from matrices acquired with the Charlie Broad collection. Their caps-only version is named Galena Title. [Skyline]
