2011] Brendler’s Desdemona was reproduced in
Petzendorfer’s Schriftenatlas, Neue Folge (1903–1905), w/
alternate ‘S’.
“In the 1960s, John McConnell revived Desdemona
when he and Chris Dubber started Face Photosetting, one of the
first of European advertising type companies in London.” [Ascender].
Came in two variants named Desdemona (open) and
Desdemona Solid, both w/ alternate ‘S’ [Face c.
1981]. Desdemona Solid was adopted by Letraset in
their Letragraphica range. [Letraset
1976] While Face’s revival stays close to the Petzendorfer
showing, Letraset’s exhibits some differences, most notably in
