Bauer’s Zeitungs-Grotesk (“Newspaper Sans”) is distinguished from similar condensed sans serifs by diagonal terminals in ‘aes’ etc. and spurless forms for ‘b’ and ‘d’. Issued in two styles; Neue enge Zeitungs-Grotesk (1904) and the bolder Schmale halbfette Zeitungs-Grotesk. The latter is shown with a 1912 date in Seeman and was registered with the VdS in 1930. However, it’s already shown in Klimschs Jahrbuch from 1907.
