Herold AKA Reklameschrift Herold was
first cast in 1901. A schmal and a Kontur (outline) were added in
1904, a wider fett in 1907. Berthold also had Cyrillic and Greek
versions of the original style, the latter called
Olympos. [Seemann] Richard Gans had it as

Vladimir Yefimov’s Herold (ParaType, 1993, with Cyrillics) is the only version to span two weights, Regular (i.e. fett) and Condensed (i.e. the original style). Andreas Seidel’s Heraut AS (Astype, 2003) offers ornaments, small caps, a few interlocking ligatures and various alternates. Dieter Steffmann’s freebie Herold is a digitization of the Extra Condensed. See also New Herman (Newlyn, 2016).
