Designed by Nicholas J. Werner in 1899 (Reichardt: 1895) and cast by the Inland Type Foundry as Becker. Advertised as extended companion to their Saint John. Also by Caslon as Saint John Expanded and by H. Hoffmeister as Continental (1901). [Reichardt] Stempel’s Continental as shown in Seemann is related, but different in some glyphs.
PLINC had it as Becker (Xenotype 3464).
Digital interpretations include Dieter Steffmann’s freebie Becker (1999, with added Lined and Outline variants) and Iza W’s Inland Becker (Intellecta Design, 2007, same variants plus a decorated “1” style, used for sample).
