Designed by Arno Drescher and issued by Ludwig Wagner in 1950 as Antiqua Manutius in 4 styles, mager, halbfett, fett, schmalfett. In 1952, a Kursiv with optional swash caps was added. [Schriftkartei Typoart, 1954 L. Wagner specimen] After Johannes Wagner had moved the foundry to West Germany, the family was continued as Antiqua 505 (not to be confused with Egyptian 505). In East Germany, it was continued by Typoart as Manutius-Antiqua. The mager style of Antiqua 505 was adopted by Berthold Fototypes in 1968/69. [Gebrauchsgraphik]
Manutius Pro (RMU, 2012) is a digital interpretation by Ralph M. Unger, covering all styles but the fett.
