AKA Eight Ball. Designer unknown. It may have been designed by Ursula Suess. [Arthur Baker, via Devroye et al.] Released sometime before VGC’s 1972 catalog. Formatt called it Smile and FotoStar Socker (with an Open style). Also carried by Lettergraphics, with swash alternates. A similar but much cruder design was issued by Alphabet Innovations in 1971. Several alternates such as swashes and one- and two-story ‘a/g’.
Digitized as Egbert (FontBank, 1991) and, with original and new alternates, as Orotund (Canada Type, 2005). Latter is used for the sample.
