A grotesk in a single weight. First shown as an all-caps design named Lapidar-Versalien in the January 1875 issue of Archiv für Buchdruckerkunst und verwandte Geschäftszweige, in all ten sizes. A lowercase was probably added before 1895, certainly before 1902 [Reynolds]. Still being sold by Genzsch & Heyse in 1926. The all-caps Lapidar-Versalien was carried by AG für Schriftgießerei u. M. and Krebs [Wetzig 1926–40]. The sample shows the 12-point size.
