First cast by Otto Weisert before 1902 as Schwabacher modern fett [Reichardt 2011] or around 1900 as Moderne Halbfette Schwabacher [Moorstation].
Adopted for phototypesetting as Cathedral Bold [PLINC 1960].
Solotype sold it as Chalet Text, Formatt had it as Alpine. Digitized by Petra Heidorn as Moderne Schwabacher (2005, freebie with poor outlines), by Gerald Gallo as Display Gothic (2008, streamlined, limited character set), and by Peter Wiegel as Moderne Fette Schwabacher (2010, GPL & OFL, used for the sample). The latter adds 3D (outlined with shadow) and Gekippt (tilted) versions.
