Perhaps the first of PLINC’s many “Bauhaus” designs, designed in 1969(?). Shown alongside Bauhaus Geometric in the One Line Manual of Styles (1971) in 7 weights, but not included in the Art Deco (Decotypes) catalog (1970) nor in Alphabet Thesaurus Vol. 3 (1971). Unlike Bauhaus Geometric (and ITC Bauhaus that followed), Bauhaus Alpha has closed bowls. It’s further distinguished by narrower forms for ‘sS’ and an asymmetrical ‘y’ (in some bolder weights).
