Designed by Roger Excoffon and issued by Olive as Diane in 1956. The caps are so elaborately decorated with swirly strokes that the metal sorts were labeled with plain letters to avoid confusion. Later, perhaps in the mid-1960s, they were replaced with a simpler design [GroupType/MyFonts]. A specimen from 1974 shows both sets of caps. An undated specimen by Olive suggests that there was a second bold weight, or at least plans for it.
Revived by Jason Walcott as Debonair JF (Jukebox Type/JAW Fonts, 2000, simple caps), by Thierry Puyfoulhoux as Diana (Présence Typo, 2004, original caps, used for the sample) and by Mark Simonson as Diane Script (GroupType, 2008, contains both sets of caps).
