Designed by Sjoerd H. de Roos and issued by Lettergieterij Amsterdam in roman and italic styles in 1923 [Reichardt 2011] In 1925, a bold weight was added and named Grotius after its first book use in Hugo de Groot’s De iure belli ac pacis, 1625–1925. [Lommen/Lane] Also cast by Berthold in 1928 as Oranien-Mediäval with Oranien-Mediäval-Kursiv and Grotius [Wetzig 1926–40]. Accompanied by two sets of initials, see Erasmus Initialen.
