Preußische IV 44

Based on a lettering standard (“Musterzeichnung IV 44 Ausgabe 3”) used by the Prussian State Railways for marking waggons. Introduced in 1906 and used until 1923, this lettering standard was a precursor of DIN 1451 Engschrift.
