French Script was shown by Inland in 1905, patented by William A. Schraubstadter. Later listed by ATF [McGrew 1993] [or is that a mix-up with the earlier, inclined French Script?]. Copied by Stephenson Blake as Parisian Ronde (1905). See also the similar French Plate (BB&S, 1904) and Typo Upright (ATF, 1905).
Digitized by Monotype in 2003 (used for sample). “Based on script handwriting and engraving used in formal announcements and invitations in general, and specifically on a 1905 ATF face named Typo Upright, by Morris Fuller Benton.” [Fonts.com] This is incorrect: it’s based on Inland’s French Script, not ATF’s Typo Upright.
