By Alexander Kay for MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan, 1884. [Canada Type] The series spans Ronaldson Old Style, Extended (c.1885), Condensed (before 1889), and Title Slope (before 1891). [Reichardt] Ronaldson Clarendon is a bolder style.
There are two digital interpretations, from Cercurius (as Fitzronald, 2003) and Canada Type (as Ronaldson, 2008). The latter (used for sample) is the much more complete, but lacks size-specific cuts which varied quite a bit in the original metal. It adds bold, italic, and other extras that didn’t exist in the original.
