This entry is for the extrabold condensed style of a typeface series that originated at the Leipzig punchcutting company Wagner & Schmidt. Sold as Aurora-Grotesk halbbreit fett X (Weber, 1931) [Wetzig 1926–40] and Pallas-Grotesk (Schriftguss). “Hamburgers” is just a sample text. Unlike the other eleven styles of Aurora-Grotesk, X doesn’t appear in 1960s specimens by Weber.
A phototype adaptation is shown in a Stulle catalog from 1985 as Aurora X.
