Emma appears to be a phototype adaptation of Dudley Rees’s Caroline (Mecanorma, 1975), but with solid upright letterforms. [Lettergraphics 1976] [Fürst c. 1976] It can’t be ruled that Emma predated Caroline. Esther (“similar to Emma”) as carried by Castcraft is basically the same design as Emma, but is shown with a stretched ‘P’. [Castcraft 1978]
