A film typeface of unclear origin,
used already in 1974. Shown in Dan X. Solo’s
Art Deco Display Alphabets book (1982), with
several alternates. Other phototype catalogs show additional
alternates. Carried by Castcraft under the alias
Eager [Castcraft
1978].
In the early 1990s, Gary Elfring (Elfring Fonts) created a
digital version in four variants, with many modified glyphs, based
on samples he saw. [P. Concannon,
John Downey] “Terranova
One NF (Nick’s Fonts) is a revival but lacks many of the
alternate characters. Earth Normal (Elfring) is very
similar.” [Solopedia]
