Related to a group of “Elzevirs” that are “based on revivals of type brought out in 1870s by Gustave Mayeur of Paris and are commonly known as French Oldstyle [though typefaces with this name vary], French Cadmus (Monotype). Elzevir No. 3 was revised under the direction of E. E. Bartlett in 1919 for Linotype. Elzevir No. 2 is entirely different, being a copy of Schoeffer Oldstyle (ATF, 1898).” [McGrew]
