Steel furniture ad in Archiv für Buchgewerbe und Gebrauchsgraphik, Nr. 11/12, 1929 (Swiss special edition). This ad was at the edge of typographic design: Memphis was released that same year, and Elegant Grotesk was released just one year earlier in 1928. Perhaps this was as much an ad for Stempel as it was for this furniture manufacturer.
It was quite common to present new typeface designs in fake (or joint?) ads in trade magazines, see also this Cromargan ad in Typographische Mitteilungen (1930). At least Rudolf Fürrer Söhne was an actual company.
