Alfereta, a bottom-heavy, left-leaning cursive designed by William F. Capitain for the National Type Foundry in 1894, on the sleeve of the Dutch pressing of “Love’s Theme”. The typeface had been revived for phototypesetting by Photo-Lettering before 1971, who licensed it to Mecanorma, the European manufacturer of dry transfer lettering.

This soul/disco track was the biggest hit of the Love Unlimited Orchestra, “a 40-piece string-laden orchestra, formed by American singer-songwriter Barry White, that served as a backing unit for White and female vocal trio Love Unlimited.” “It is one of the few instrumental and purely orchestral singles to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.”
