The idea behind the Classic Hungarian Plays website was to show that online e-books are a thing and the web is capable of delivering a wonderful typographic and reading experience.

Hungarian cultural websites and institutions do not have the necessary fundings for professional corporate identities and images. This situation is even worse regarding state funded universities. The site was created for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities division at Eötvös Loránd University.

With this project I wanted to publish our classic plays in a whole new look and feel. The opening page is set with Alegreya and the titles are locked in svg images so they scale nicely.

I just fooled around with the different weights and styles of Alegreya. The roman numerals do not have any functionality other than looking awesome. You can check out the website here for the full experience.
