In the title, the font’s spacing has been tightened, in order to create a line with even more impact. The result is unbalanced, though — see the gap between ‘R’ and ‘I’. There are basically three options:
1. Kern this pair, too, and put up with overlapping glyphs.
2. Kern the ‘RI’ pair only as much as you find acceptable, and let this pair determine the overall tightness.
3. Alter the problematic letterform itself to make it more compact, in this case tuck in the leg of ‘R’ a notch.
The best solution, perhaps, is to see the poster for “A Clockwork Orange” again!
