This could be a fascinating battle to watch given that US law offers no protection (beyond font software) for alphabets or typeface designs. If one is allowed to use a letter from a typeface as a trademarked logo, perhaps the way for type designers to protect their work is to invent a “brand” for each glyph in their typeface and trademark it as a logo. ;)
If they had clipped off a corner here or there, they might have a stronger position. But I’m glad they didn’t. I hate when people do that. (See http://cuttingedgelogos.tumblr.com)

No, putting it like this is not accurate. To quote TechCrunch directly:
