Soulfood is a cookbook with 68 recipes for “Real African American Cooking” collected by Sven “Katmando” Christ. It comes with a compilation featuring music by Bo Diddley, Chuck Womack & The Sweet Souls, RZA, Andre Williams and others. Published by Trikont in 2012.
The fonts used on the cover are Pinewood, a freebie digitization of Rustic, and Underware’s Sauna. The latter is also used for the book interior.
The photography really adds to the nostalgic feel. Deep focus, high contrast, obvious highlights and shadows. it’s a nice break from the shallow focus, soft everything look of so much contemporary food photography.
