Beograd—White City is based on a ten days experience in Belgrade, Serbia in April 2016. In this publication we engage with the themes of individual and national identity, censorship, privatisation and governance in the context of a globalising city and its people. Our encounters speak of a country that is reorganising itself to negotiate its global image while straddling between its memories of the past and its dreams for a future at par with the world economy.
