This is the tattered jacket of Christine Ammer’s Harper’s Dictionary of Music (New York, Evanston, San Francisco, London: Harper & Row, Publishers, 1972). The jacket was designed by Hal Siegel and it is a lovely use of a font that is either the original Cinema, or one of its copies.

  1. Judging from the E with the high bar and the inner shadow that meets the lower curve as well as the U with the pointed bottom right, this is probably Epic, the version sold by Lettergraphics.
