The logo for indie rock band Gardens & Villa is the Extended style of Précis, an early 1970s typeface which was most notably used for the first logo of Star Wars. The ‘e’ is a rotated ‘a’.

It’s not clear who designed the logo. It appears on their debut album in 2011, which does not credit a designer. The type is particularly well-suited for their 2014 release, Televisor, with its angular architecture and ’70s color cast.

  1. Wow—this is beautiful! Really atmospheric and other-worldly. The album cover design makes me want to go find the music and listen to it.
