Bjugn Hotell

Some months ago, my friend Håvard told me he had tipped some people to use Dover. Sure enough, about a week later I got an order from a faraway customer. Then I promptly forgot about it.

The hotel evidently ended up using Dover Sans, and I had to do a double-take when I got the pictures. Nobody has used Dover Display quite this big before, and even in the hands of non-designers, it looks professional. ‘Best used big’ has never been a more appropriate slogan for my work.

As a brand, it is rather simple. As a font-in-use, it doesn’t turn heads. But to see my vector labours turned into huge LED lights is a thrill.
