Inspired by Florian’s recent take on Dawn of the Dead I’ve chosen to explore the typographic galaxy of an other horror movie from the 70s: The Abominable Dr. Phibes by Robert Fuest and starring Vincent Price.

On the main poster, the title of the movie, set only in lowercases, is composed with Kabel Heavy (“the abominable”, a version with shorter ascenders) and orange and black Filmsense (dr. phibes”, using an alternate s and a modified dot on i). The tagline is set in Windsor Extra Bold Condensed. All other pieces of information are set with several styles of Futura.

Other graphic material promoting the movie get rid of Windsor and add Modernique to the equation.
