The Melior used here differs slightly from the digital version. The lettershapes were likely different in the metal and phototype versions, or it is a custom logotype.

The designer and illustrator is unknown. Illustrations are signed “URBAN”. Please comment if you have more information.

    1. I love these covers! I want to use them as an artist model for my work in school, but I cannot find the artist name anywhere!

I was wondering if you know the name of the artist or artists who are responsible for these magazine covers? Please tell me you do, it would help me so much!

    2. The artist’s name is John Urban. In 1965, “the noted New York designer [was] an associate of Abril Lamarque, Machinery’s consulting art director”. Urban is also credited in issues from 1966, 1967, and 1968.
