A lovely contribution! Thank you, Robert. It’s our first in-use example for Phil Martin’s Harem (digital as Johnny).
The cover art obviously references the jacket design for Hemphill’s book, with the jukebox and the title set on a curve. Harem even has similar flared stems as the face used for the book jacket. Unlike Nottingham, it was a clearly contemporary choice, with the isolated dots for the bars in ‘H’ or ‘E’.
Apparently 6 LPs weren’t enough: Columbia House soon added a 7th volume. The cover features a very different design, though.
