A troublesome depiction of women, and sadly quite representative for the 1950s. But the type’s interesting. Filmotype Ford rhymes with Antique Olive Nord! The feel of these two wide heavy faces from the 1950s is surprisingly similar, at least in the capitals. The grotesques used for the actors’ names might be from the Filmotype library, too. Among digital fonts, Veneer comes pretty close for the condensed style. Garage Gothic has similar tapering stems in A, but different details for M or R.
Hey Florian, the unidentified reminds me of Inland’s Condensed Title Gothic No. 11. Knockout’s alternate R would get you pretty close!
The bottom credits look to be News Gothic.
Good call! I’ve added it. It looks like Walden Fonts’s Irby is a digitization of that face. It is included in their bundle of American Poster Fonts of World War II.
