Time travel from the 1970s into the 1980s with this weird and wonderful poster series for the Czechoslovakian movie releases of Pink Panther, designed by Zdeněk Ziegler.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again, 1978. Sellers spying from a bin, but not seeing a staring tiger below him. Windsor seems to be adopted as the goto-font for this Clouseau poster series, with customized, compact diacritics. The movie title is set in what looks like Gill Sans.

Pomsta ružového pantera / Revenge of the Pink Panther, 1980. More Windsor, combined with Univers Bold. Don’t miss the delicately cut-out teeth on Peter Sellers.

Stopa růžového pantera / Trail of the Pink Panther, 1982. Never use a script typeface in all-caps, they say. But then again, look at this one. Tightly-set Blanchard Solid and a grotesk, two pink panthers, all in boxes and set on an angle. The movie credits on the left hand bottom are set in Universal Grotesk, a Czechoslovak font with an interesting story.
