Seven Flair in use on the cover of Lord of Lords, Alice Coltrane's final album for Impulse! Records.
It was the final part of a trilogy that began with Universal Consciousness and continued with the expansive World Galaxy. Like its immediate predecessors, the album features a 16-piece string orchestra that Coltrane arranged and conducted, fronted by a trio in which she plays piano, Wurlitzer organ, harp, and timpani with bassist Charlie Haden and drummer Ben Riley. — All Music
The album was reissued on vinyl by Superior Viaduct in 2018, featuring the original artwork by Philip Melnick. Seven Flair (or Flare) probably originated at Franklin Photolettering. A glyph set is reproduced in Modern Display Alphabets (Dover, 1974). Nick Curtis did a digital caps-only interpretation named Boxcar Willie NF (Nick’s Fonts, 2007).
