For the issue of another set of remastered recordings in 2012, Decca Classics gave it a new design, featuring illustrations by Yann Legendre with type in ITC Black Tulip and Baskerville. Previous packaging of what’s generally agreed to be the classical recording of the [20th] century has featured everything from blackletter to uncial, from ITC Avant Garde Gothic to Belwe, as the product has shrunk from 22 vinyl LPs to 16 CDs to a stream of bits from iTunes. Collector’s edition limited to 7,000 copies, featuring four bound books in LP format in double cardboard slipcase. Issued on 17 September 2012 on the occasion of Richard Wagner’s 200th and Sir Georg Solti’s 100th birthday. Source: https://www.musik-sammler.de © Decca. Photo: Musik-Sammler.de.
