  1. The font in use is the heaviest weight of Bernstein, a series that probably originated at the Brendel Type Studio and might have been distributed by Brendel & Pabst’s Typeshop typesetting studios, or its digital successor, Brendel Informatik alias (?) B&P Graphics Ltd. Bernstein is a variant of Bamberg with raised x-height, in seven (upright) weights. Bamberg in turn is a reworking of Bembo Serial, which was Typeshop’s display adaptation of Bembo. Are you still following? Unlike Bernstein or Bamberg, Bembo Serial is shown in my undated (late 1970s?) Typeshop catalog. Bernstein and Bamberg are mentioned in a list by B&P Graphics Ltd (est. in 1982) from 1991. Digital versions are available from Elsner+Flake’s TypeShop Collection as TS Bernstein and from SoftMaker as Bernstein Serial.
