Theater Morgenstern was in need of financial support from the government in order to continue its activity. To show exactly how desperate their situation was, we made a unique direct mailing campaign.
Every folder in the campaign was made with torn and worn-out costumes, used over and over again until they became unwearable. We sent them to the Senate Department for Culture — not without success: after the campaign, the theatre received support for one year, with ongoing discussions to find a more permanent solution.
The entire campaign was based on the idea of reusing the old costumes and theatre props, so the look had to be rough but friendly at the same time. The typeface selection followed the same principle. Stencil is used for titles and accents. Zilla Slab was chosen because of its industrial but friendly appearance.
