VLF Studio created the identity for French fashion designer Marine Serre. For the brand’s website, art director Thomas Cristiani worked with Sainte Colombe, in Light and Extra Light. The fonts are used in a range of sizes, from the cascading menu and the product info to the big texts on the About or Contact pages. The delicate roman is contrasted with the technoid Korataki for page titles, line names, and details about pricing and sizes.

Sainte Colombe often is shown white on black, or against photographs, and with drastically tightened letterspacing. That’s not exactly what’s written in textbooks about ideal screen readability, but when it’s done as skillfully as Cristiani did here, you’ll get away with it. The result is an idiosyncratic typographic voice for an extraordinary fashion label.
