BA thesis publication about Hungarian diacritics, made at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
As all of the different diacritics in the Latin Extended character set, Hungarian diacritics have their own history and rules, from a graphic design point of you as well. In my thesis I present the graphical evolution of diacritics, focusing on Hungarian ones. Besides of basic introduction to the modifier characters’ past and present state, I examine the possibilities (rather than difficulties) of designing with diacritics, through numerous contemporary examples. The publication serves as a kind of manual for diacritics, thus it is bound to mimic one.
