For the German rock band Donots, their 2012 album Wake the Dogs was the first release on a major label. The complete artwork was designed by Rocket & Wink, using a paint-smeared rendition of Hannes von Döhren’s popular Brandon Grotesque. In addition to the standard and the digipak version, there is also a dog-food tin special that includes a limited edition t-shirt, and a hand-signed double vinyl edition. The band photos are by Patrick Runte.
Together with many other covers, posters and specimens, the Donots artwork is on display in Schrift in Form 3. This exhibition at the Klingspor-Museum Offenbach focuses on the interplay of type and music. It runs through January 6, 2013.
