BestOff is a presentation format of the Art University Linz. An exciting range of projects, ideas and installations from the production of the past academic year are put up for discussion.
For the BestOff 2019 exhibition MOOI Design created a striking neon “sale-aesthetics” – exaggerated, shrill and in fluorescent green! Oversized large stickers in various forms served as key visuals and slogans like “100% BEST”, “100% ART” and “100% FREE” attracted many art consumers with the well-proven discount strategy.
The eco-friendly exhibition catalog served as helpful information guide to visitors. It is designed so that it can also be conveniently used as a carrying bag, acting as an unfamiliar “out-of-home” element. The striking cover with a matt UV-varnish can be individualized with four different stickers, representing the four exhibition locations. The catalogue has tree different typefaces in use: Druk Wide (Commercial Type), Apoc Dark (Blaze Type) and Akkurat (Lineto Type Foundry).
Druk Wide and Apoc Dark are combined and interchanged for headlines and all important information – complementing each other and creating maximum contrast. Akkurat is used for the entire body copying small print of the catalog, for best readability.
