Peignot in use for an ad announcing the 10th birthday sale of Zayre, a chain of department stores founded in June 1956 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The design features several techniques that had become easy to accomplish with phototypesetting: type set on an angle and on a curve, with tight linespacing incl. overlaping ascenders and descenders, outlined type, and type in a counter. The pink text used for the motion line left by the enthusiastic shopper is in Optima. “Fabulous department stores serving the families of America” appears to be set in caps from Trade Gothic Extended (or News Gothic Extended).
