A recent post went up on the Brooklyn Historical Society’s website with the above image, showing the cover of the 1943–44 annual report by the Brooklyn Chapter of the American Red Cross. The cover makes use of Bauer’s informal script typeface, Gillies Gothic. The bottom type is set in Tempo, one of the many American geometric sans typefaces inspired by the success of Futura.
