Stripes in use for the cover of the only and self-titled album by jazz-funk band Rhythm Machine. Originally released by Lulu Records in 1976, it was reissued in 2012 on Now-Again Records.

The name of the album and band on the cover features the same color palette of Letraset USA’s Graphic Art Products Catalog from 1973, as well as alternates glyphs for H Y M C H I N and E. The letters M and A are not alternates but letterforms composed of parts from two of the alternates for those letters.

The cover design is by James Cox, an American designer active in the 1970s, with artwork by Herschel Caldwell.
