The logo as seen on a record label by Discos Igle. “The Eastern Gang” is set in Kabel, the track list in Bernhard Modern.
Sonido y Ritmo S.A. (Sound and Rhythm) was a Mexican record label that integrated many record companies (Discos Igle, Fania Records, Vaya Records, Tico Records) with a range of Latin American artist of the salsa genre such as Ismael Quintana, Celia Cruz, Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe and many more.
This post focuses on the logotype in Stripes. The words “Sonido y Ritmo S.A.” are connected by a continuous line composed from the straight line segments included in the glyph set of Stripes. Some letter connections had to be specially arranged, like ID and DO, utilizing the small pieces included on the dry transfer sheet. Other glyphs like the comma and the ring accent are used as separators and periods.
