Supersonico is an Italian restaurant that opened its doors in August 2017. The pavilion on Berlin-Wedding’s side of Brunnenstraße sports a glamorous neon sign. The script letterforms are not custom made, but derived from Luxus Brut, a typeface by Roland Hörmann of Phospho. Released in 2009, Luxus Brut was inspired by the vintage sign of a bookbindery shop in Vienna. It’s distinguished by large, descending capitals and wide connecting strokes. In 2014, Phospho added Luxus Brut Sparkling, a variant with higher stroke contrast.
