Inque is a new magazine to be published once a year, for ten years, starting in 2021. It was founded by Dan Crowe (editor-in-chief) and Matt Willey (art director).
The single-page website that announces the launch is set in Henrik Kubel’s A2 Grot12 (A2-TYPE, 2015–2017). A follow up to Grot10 (2010), Grot12 likewise takes inspiration from Stephenson Blake’s classic Grotesque series. The family spans threewidths; Extended, Normal, and Condensed. The website uses several weights from the Extended branch, in roman and italic styles.
To ensure creative freedom, the print-only publication won’t feature any advertising. A Kickstarter campaign will launch Inque’s premier issue, after which the magazine plans to be self-sustaining for the remaining nine issues.
